Vajra Drill delivers compliant, accountable, and community-transforming water and solar infrastructure for government departments, international NGOs, county administrations, schools, health centres, and faith-based organisations across Kenya.
Two decades of delivering water and solar infrastructure for institutions, communities, and development programmes across Kenya.
From a single school borehole to a 10-village water scheme — Vajra Drill delivers every component with accountability, compliance, and donor-grade documentation.
High-yield community boreholes for schools, health centres, rural kiosks, and villages. Includes hydrogeological survey, WRA abstraction licence, borehole development and pump testing. Up to 600m depth.
Learn More →Solar power systems for health centres, schools, county offices, and admin blocks. Eliminates recurrent KPLC bills from government budgets. REREC-compliant installation with full handover documentation.
Learn More →Chlorination, UV, and multi-stage filtration plants ensuring KS EAS 12 compliance. Water kiosk dosing units, hand pump rehabilitation, and water quality monitoring programmes for community schemes.
Learn More →Solar submersible pumps replacing diesel for community water systems. Ideal for off-grid communities where grid extension is not viable. Zero fuel cost, 20+ year design life, WUA-maintainable.
Learn More →Elevated steel tanks, ground-level HDPE tanks (5,000–200,000L), and masonry reservoir construction. Community water kiosk installations with coin meters and pay-per-use systems for cost recovery.
Learn More →Turnkey end-to-end community water and solar systems under one contract: borehole, solar pump, treatment, storage, distribution piping, and solar power — with full donor-format documentation and community handover.
Learn More →The difference between a school or health centre without water and one with a reliable borehole and solar system extends far beyond convenience — it affects health outcomes and community development.
A structured, accountable four-stage process designed to meet every government and donor requirement — from BOQ to final report.
We provide a detailed Bill of Quantities and technical specification for tender or direct procurement. All PPRA-required contractor compliance documents provided upfront: WRA licence, REREC certificate, tax compliance, insurance, and CR12.
Our licensed hydrogeologist conducts a site survey to locate the optimal borehole position. Full system design — borehole spec, pump sizing, treatment plant, piping, and solar array — provided before drilling commences.
All works executed by licensed teams with photographic records at every milestone. Water quality tested by KEBS-accredited laboratory. GPS coordinates, yield data, and installation records compiled throughout for donor submission.
Formal handover ceremony with minutes and attendance records. Water User Association trained on pump maintenance, water quality monitoring, and revenue collection. 2-year workmanship warranty on all installed works.
From NG-CDF school projects to UNICEF-funded ASAL water schemes — we work with every type of government and development sector client.
Boarding schools, day schools, polytechnics, and universities requiring WASH-compliant borehole water, sanitation infrastructure, and solar power. Meets MoE and MoH WASH standards. NG-CDF procurement compliant.
Level 2–5 health facilities needing reliable water for surgical and delivery procedures, solar power for medical equipment, and cold chain power for vaccine storage. MoH and WHO WASH facility guidelines compliant.
County water departments, constituency offices, administration blocks, and public works projects. PPRA tender documentation and experience with DANIDA, AfDB, and World Bank co-financed government projects.
USAID, UNICEF, World Vision, IRC, WaterAid, and bilateral donor WASH programmes. Full project management, GPS geo-tagging, photographic records, water quality certificates, and donor-format completion reports.
Government and NGO clients across Kenya who rely on Vajra Drill for accountable, donor-compliant water and solar infrastructure.
"Our NGO implemented a 12-village water scheme in Turkana using Vajra Drill. Their documentation discipline was outstanding — every GPS coordinate, water quality certificate, and handover minute was filed correctly in donor format. Our USAID project audit passed without a single query. We've now contracted them for three subsequent WASH programmes."
"Our boarding school of 820 students was buying water bowsers at Ksh 28,000 per load — sometimes two loads a week. Vajra Drill drilled a 160m borehole, installed a solar pump and 50,000-litre tank. We haven't purchased a single tanker load in two years. The KS EAS 12 water quality certificate was ready within 2 weeks of commissioning for our MoE inspection."
"Our Level 4 health centre was operating on two hours of generator power per day — rationing electricity for the maternity ward. Vajra Drill installed a 15kW solar system with battery backup. We now have 24-hour power, zero fuel expenditure, and our delivery room has reliable lighting at all hours. Our maternal health indicators have improved measurably since installation."
The most common questions from procurement officers, NGO project managers, and institutional decision-makers before commissioning a water or solar project.
Yes. Vajra Drill meets all PPRA contractor compliance requirements. We provide: Certificate of Incorporation, PIN Certificate, Tax Compliance Certificate (TCC), VAT Certificate, WRA Drilling Licence, REREC Solar Installation Certificate, Professional Indemnity Insurance, and CR12 director details. All documents are current and ready for national and county government procurement submissions.
For NGO and bilateral donor projects we provide: GPS coordinates and photographs at every project milestone, borehole geological log and yield test data, KEBS-accredited laboratory water quality analysis confirming KS EAS 12:2014 compliance, as-built drawings, community handover minutes with attendance lists, WUA training records, and a formal project completion report. Our documentation format has been accepted by USAID, UNICEF, World Bank-financed, and bilateral donor-funded projects.
Every borehole we commission is tested by a KEBS-accredited laboratory for the full KS EAS 12:2014 parameter suite — bacteriological, chemical, and physical. If the water exceeds limits (commonly for fluoride, iron, or turbidity in certain Kenyan aquifer zones), we design and install the appropriate treatment system before issuing the compliance certificate. We will not hand over a water system without a passing KS EAS 12 report.
Sustainability is built into our handover process: we train a Water User Association (WUA) on pump operation, basic maintenance, water quality monitoring, and cash collection. We provide a simple O&M manual in Kiswahili and English. We also offer an optional annual maintenance contract for remote sites. Our 2-year workmanship warranty covers all installed works.
Yes — multi-village piped water schemes are among our most impactful projects. These involve high-yield boreholes, solar pumping, elevated or ground-level storage, and a piped distribution network with metered kiosks serving multiple villages. We design for water kiosk cost recovery, train WUA operators in metered sales, and provide full engineering drawings for county water asset registration. Schemes we have implemented serve populations from 500 to 8,000 community members.
